Jacksonville pulled off one of the wildest finishes of the NFL season in London, beating the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 when Cam Little drilled a field goal as time expired. The winning kick came after a long kickoff return put the Jaguars in position despite Philadelphia having grabbed the lead in the final seconds.
Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo): The #Eagles opt against the touchback, as that had been the mistake the #Cowboys made internationally. A big return and the #Jaguars pull off a ̶L̶i̶t̶t̶l̶e̶ BIG win at the buzzer. Wow.
The Eagles decided against taking the touchback on the kickoff after taking the lead — the same decision Mike Garafolo noted had backfired on the Cowboys internationally earlier in the season — and the Jaguars made them pay with a big return deep into Philadelphia territory. Little then delivered the winner from range as the clock hit zero, completing the comeback.
The finish capped a chaotic day for Philadelphia, which was already fighting through a depleted lineup in London — Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith were inactive entering the game, and running back Will Shipley and defensive end Jalyx Hunt both went down during it. The stunning ending put a spotlight squarely on the final decision-making, and Eagles coach Nick Sirianni accepted responsibility without hesitation.
"I didn't make the right decision and I lost us that game," Sirianni told reporters, saying he put it "fully on me" in his message to the players. The defeat sends the Eagles home from London with a gutting loss on a day they were already shorthanded, while Jacksonville leaves with a marquee win after pulling off the late escape.
