Chiefs waive QB Chris Oladokun, who started their final two games last season

The Chiefs have waived quarterback Chris Oladokun, the passer who started the team's final two regular-season games last season.

Kansas City made the move Friday. Oladokun had been waived with an injury designation at last weekend's roster cutdown, went unclaimed, and reverted to the Chiefs' injured reserve; Friday's transaction released him from IR with an injury settlement.

Oladokun entered the NFL as the Steelers' seventh-round pick in 2022 out of South Dakota State and has been with Kansas City since joining its practice squad that season. He stepped in at the end of the 2025 regular season when the Chiefs rested their starters, starting the final two games as the club closed out its postseason positioning. The 28-year-old now heads to the open market after nearly four years in Kansas City's quarterback room behind Patrick Mahomes.
