The Browns may be without their leading rusher for a pivotal divisional game. Quinshon Judkins did not practice Wednesday and is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Ravens, Adam Schefter reported.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Browns RB Quinshon Judkins did not practice today and is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Ravens.
The stakes for that status update are significant: Baltimore's Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return for the same matchup after missing the last two games with an ankle injury. Judkins has been Cleveland's most productive running back through five weeks, posting 421 yards and four touchdowns as the change-of-pace complement to downhill runner Khalil Rountree.
Judkins has been day-to-day with an ankle injury since last week, and the Browns have already been active on the backfield carousel — they placed Raheim Sanders on injured reserve and signed Audric Estime on Tuesday, while also designating Dylan Sampson for return from IR on Wednesday. The Ravens game takes on added weight for a 2-3 Browns team that can't afford to fall further behind in the AFC North. If Judkins can't go, Cleveland's ground game would lean heavily on Rountree and Estime against a Baltimore defense that has been stout against the run even with Jackson sidelined.
