A healthier Denver receiving group is emerging just in time for a marquee matchup in San Francisco. Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. practiced in full for the first time since before the Broncos' season opener, while Jaylen Waddle and running back J.K. Dobbins also logged full participation Wednesday.
Parker Gabriel (@ParkerJGabriel): Good sign for Marvin Mims here. He practiced full for the first time since before the #Broncos' season opener vs. Kansas City. Payton said after Sunday's game they were hoping to get him back 'soon' and that appears to be this week.
Mims has not played since suffering a foot injury in the season opener against Kansas City. He was limited all of last week and was officially questionable against the Rams, but he was held inactive for that game. Head coach Sean Payton said after Sunday's win that the team was hoping to get Mims back "soon," and that appears to be this week.
Waddle (foot) and Dobbins (hip) were likewise full participants, and Payton said Waddle is "doing great." Outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman (hamstring) was the only Denver player not to practice, and he has been called day-to-day.
The timing is significant for a 3-0 Denver team heading into a road game in San Francisco on Sunday. The Broncos have thrived on balance, and getting Mims back as both a deep threat and a return man — plus a fully healthy Waddle to pair with him — gives the offense its most dangerous personnel grouping of the young season.
