Cincinnati held its breath for a stretch on Tuesday. Ja'Marr Chase briefly went down after a route during practice, grabbing at his left knee, and Adam Schefter flagged the moment as one worth watching closely.

The early read from people actually at the session, however, was far calmer than the video suggested. MySportsUpdate passed along that Chase did not require much medical attention afterward and was around his teammates as practice wrapped up, per local reporters — and pointedly noted that no cart was ever needed.

The Bengals have not issued any statement on Chase's status, and with their opener fast approaching there is no reason for the team to say anything until it has to. Until Cincinnati or Chase himself speaks, the honest summary is this: a scary-looking moment, encouraging observations from the field, and a fan base that will not fully exhale until he is listed as a full participant.
