Bears quarterback Caleb Williams confirmed Thursday that he tore his hamstring but declined to disclose the severity, saying the reporting around his injury has been wrong and that his status for Sunday's game against the Falcons remains unsettled.

The comments came the same day Williams was listed as a full practice participant for the second straight day, and after the team had projected him on track to start in Atlanta. Williams did not offer a timetable or a grade for the tear, instead deflecting repeated questions about how the injury has been characterized publicly. He has been out since the injury in Week 2, and Thursday's practice report listed him as a full participant — but Williams made clear he was not ready to say, in his own words, that he is locked in for Sunday.

The timing matters as much as the diagnosis. Chicago is heading to Atlanta for a matchup that could shape its early-season trajectory, and the offense has been built around Williams since he arrived. If the quarterback — who has started since his rookie season — is limited or out, the Bears would turn to their backup on three days' notice, a scenario the team has avoided committing to either way since Williams' latest setback.

The Bears face the Falcons on Sunday in Atlanta. The team's Friday injury report will be the next public checkpoint on Williams' availability.
