The Chicago Bears reshuffled their roster in a busy Saturday of transactions, activating cornerback Kyler Gordon from the physically unable to perform list in a series of moves that included placing defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo on injured reserve and releasing safety Xavier Woods.

Gordon's return is a significant development for a Chicago secondary that has missed its starting nickel corner. General manager Ryan Poles admitted in September that he did not know whether Gordon would play for the Bears again this season after the calf injury that also cost him most of last year. Gordon should be available for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, though his role may be limited as he works back into game shape.

Odeyingbo's move to injured reserve is a blow to the Bears' defensive line rotation. The veteran defensive end had been a steady contributor since signing with Chicago in the offseason. Meanwhile, safety Xavier Woods was released after starting early in the season.

The Bears also signed cornerback Nick McCloud to the active roster from the practice squad and elevated linebacker Buddy Johnson and running back Zavier Scott from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
