Veteran QB Andy Dalton signs with Falcons

Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton is signing with the Atlanta Falcons, giving the club a seasoned hand at the position. The move was reported by Adam Schefter as Dalton heads to Atlanta to finalize the deal.

Dalton drew interest elsewhere before choosing the Falcons. Mike Garafolo reported he had a few options — including a return to the Philadelphia Eagles, who are navigating life without Jalen Hurts after placing him on injured reserve — but Dalton is on his way to join Atlanta's quarterback room.

The Falcons add a battle-tested veteran behind center for a team still sorting out its approach at the position. Atlanta's need for quarterback depth became the emphasis of its Monday morning, and Dalton's signing answers it with one of the most experienced backups in the league.
