49ers TE Jake Tonges carted off with knee injury, ruled out against Rams

49ers tight end Jake Tonges was carted to the locker room with a knee injury during the season opener against the Rams and ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Tonges came up hurt with about two minutes left in the first half and could not put weight on his right leg as he was helped off the field before being carted away. He was later officially ruled out. The 49ers had already lost rookie receiver De'Zhaun Stribling to a left ankle injury earlier in the same game, adding to an injury toll on an otherwise dominant night in Melbourne.
