Minnesota moved on from safety Jamal Adams with an injured-reserve designation and added cornerback depth.
The Vikings' experiment with Jamal Adams is over for the season.

Minnesota placed the veteran safety on injured reserve and signed former Chiefs cornerback Bryce Phillips, who had joined Kansas City as an undrafted free agent earlier this year, according to Ben Goessling. Adams' deal with the Vikings was a veteran-minimum salary benefit, and the IR move closes the book on a low-risk flier that did not pan out.
Phillips gives the Vikings cornerback depth as they manage the back of the roster. The Adams designation frees a roster spot and removes a name that had generated little on-field return since his arrival. Minnesota continues to tinker with its secondary depth ahead of final cutdowns.
