Titans head coach Robert Saleh voiced full confidence in quarterback Cam Ward, urging patience as the young signal-caller develops. "We have the utmost confidence in Cam," Saleh said. "The kid's gonna be a damn good quarterback. Everyone just needs to take a deep breath and let him grow."
Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate): #Titans HC Robert Saleh on QB Cam Ward: “We have the utmost confidence in Cam. … The kid’s gonna be a damn good quarterback. Everyone just needs to take a deep breath and let him grow. If you can’t objectively watch the tape and look at him from Week 1 last year to Week 1 this year to Week 4 yesterday and not see improvement, then you’re just being biased to your own opinion.”
Saleh pointed to Ward's progress as evidence the trajectory is right, challenging critics to watch the tape. "If you can't objectively watch the tape and look at him from Week 1 last year to Week 1 this year to Week 4 yesterday and not see improvement, then you're just being biased to your own opinion," he said.
The public backing comes as Tennessee works through early-season growing pains with Ward under center. Saleh's message is a clear signal the organization is committed to the long-term plan rather than reacting to short-term results. The Titans will look for continued progress from Ward as the season moves forward, with the head coach making clear the patience is intentional.
