The Texans will be without three key players for their Sunday matchup against the Jaguars in London, with two offensive starters and a defensive back ruled out for the transatlantic trip.
Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): #Texans WR Tank Dell (knee), RB David Montgomery (groin) and S Jalen Pitre (shoulder) will not travel with the team to London and have been ruled out vs the #Jaguars.
Dell has yet to play this season after undergoing knee surgery during training camp, though his recovery had been progressing toward a potential return. Montgomery has been a steady presence in Houston's backfield, and his absence leaves a significant hole in the ground game alongside the already-depleted receiver corps. Pitre has been a versatile piece of the Texans' secondary, playing both deep safety and nickel roles.
The Texans (4-1) are already running a short-handed offense that is set to debut newly acquired wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who was confirmed by head coach DeMeco Ryans earlier Thursday to make his Houston debut in London. Harrison Jr., acquired in a blockbuster trade earlier this month, will now be leaned on even more heavily as the primary outside receiving threat against a Jaguars defense that has been stingy against the pass.
Houston's Week 6 London game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium kicks off Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
