The Texans' offensive line is getting a veteran back for the second half of the season, as Houston officially activated tackle Braden Smith from injured reserve Wednesday.
Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL): #Texans officially activate Braden Smith, and announce their practice squad deals for Mark Gronowski and Bryce Oliver
Smith gives the Texans a proven veteran presence on the offensive line as they work through their Week 6 schedule. He has been on injured reserve this season, and his activation now opens a window for him to rejoin the rotation or reclaim his starting role, depending on how the coaching staff wants to handle his return to game action.
The team also announced practice-squad additions of quarterback Mark Gronowski and wide receiver Bryce Oliver, filling out depth behind the active roster as the Texans prepare for their next matchup.
