Lamar Jackson has realistic chance to return for Sunday's game at Cleveland

The Ravens could get their starting quarterback back for Week 6 as Jackson gains ground on the injury that has sidelined him since Week 4

The Ravens may have their MVP quarterback back under center this Sunday. Lamar Jackson has missed the last two games — a Week 4 win over the Bills and a Week 5 overtime victory against the Falcons in which Tyler Huntley stepped in — but signs now point toward a return for Baltimore's Week 6 trip to Cleveland.

Jackson initially went down in Week 4 with what was described as a knee/leg issue, forcing him out of action. Huntley managed the offense admirably in his place, but the Ravens' ceiling is plainly higher with the two-time MVP running the show. Baltimore currently sits at 3-2 and faces a Browns team that has struggled to find consistency at quarterback this season.

Ravens head coach Jesse Minter has not yet made an official determination on Jackson's status for Sunday, but the expectation from league sources is that he'll have a real chance to go. The Browns game is a winnable AFC North matchup, and getting Jackson back would significantly change the complexion of Baltimore's offense against a Cleveland defense that ranks near the bottom of the league against the pass.

If Jackson cannot go, the Ravens have proven they can win with Huntley, but every extra week without their starter carries risk. Baltimore's schedule stiffens after Cleveland — a Week 7 date with the Vikings awaits — making this Sunday's decision point pivotal for the team's trajectory.
