Seahawks, CB Devon Witherspoon agree to four-year, $132M extension
Seattle locks up its Pro Bowl cornerback on a record-setting deal, making Witherspoon the highest-paid corner in NFL history.
The Seahawks have answered the fourth-year cornerback standoff. Devon Witherspoon agreed to a four-year extension with Seattle worth $132 million, including $101 million guaranteed — a deal that makes him the highest-paid cornerback in league history.
Witherspoon, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 draft, has been a Pro Bowler in each of his first three NFL seasons and was a central piece of the Seattle defense that won Super Bowl LX in February. Over 43 career games he has recorded 32 passes defensed, two interceptions and 4.5 sacks, adding four passes defensed and a sack across three postseason contests.
The extension was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, with the Seahawks confirming the agreement Saturday morning.
With Witherspoon's contract settled, attention around the cornerback market now turns to New England: Christian Gonzalez, the No. 17 pick of the same 2023 draft, is also seeking an extension and shares the same agent.
