Ravens sent doctors to Philadelphia for Cam Jurgens physical before trade
The Ravens dispatched doctors to the Eagles' facility for Cam Jurgens' physical ahead of the trade, a process shaped by the failed Maxx Crosby deal this offseason

The Ravens took an unusual step to seal their trade for center Cam Jurgens this week, sending a pair of team doctors to Philadelphia to conduct his physical at the Eagles' facility rather than bringing him to Baltimore first, per multiple reports.
Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero): The Ravens quietly traveled to Philadelphia to conduct Cam Jurgens' physical, keeping the trade secret until it was finalized — and avoiding another Maxx Crosby mess.
The process was shaped by the fallout from Baltimore's failed March trade for Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. That deal was announced before Crosby's physical could be completed, and when the physical at the Ravens' facility failed, the trade collapsed. Determined to avoid a repeat, Baltimore kept the Jurgens deal entirely under wraps until the physical was finalized.
As Adam Schefter noted, that approach could become a template for other teams in future trade negotiations. Jurgens, who remains in the concussion protocol and will not play in Sunday night's game against the Falcons, is expected to be cleared in time for Baltimore's Week 6 matchup.
The Ravens traded for Jurgens to anchor the interior of their offensive line for the long term, adding a Pro Bowl-caliber center to a unit that has battled injuries throughout the early season.
