The Ravens received good news on Zay Flowers and less on Ja'Kobi Lane. Head coach Jesse Minter told reporters Monday that Flowers is considered day-to-day with the hamstring injury that ended his day early in Sunday's win over the Colts, a designation that keeps the star wide receiver in play for Week 2.
Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): Coach Jesse Minter confirms Zay Flowers is day-to-day, a good sign.
Flowers had been managing the hamstring in the lead-up to the opener and still dominated the first 25 minutes, catching five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown before aggravating the injury and sitting out the rest of a 41-23 victory.
The outlook is not as promising for Lane, the rookie wide receiver believed to have suffered a fractured wrist in the same game. Minter said the team is still gathering information on Lane's wrist but indicated the injury is expected to keep him out longer than Flowers, thinning a receiver room that lost both wideouts in the opener.
Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec): Minter said there is potential for the Ravens to add another WR, but he said that Elijah Sarratt and Devontez Walker will have a real opportunity to get themselves into a rhythm.
Minter's comments suggest Flowers has a real chance to avoid missing game time, while Lane's absence could stretch into the season's early weeks. How the Ravens adjust their receiver rotation — and whether they add from outside — will be worth monitoring as the week unfolds.
