Rams WR Puka Nacua leaves practice with undisclosed injury
Puka Nacua exited a joint practice with the Cowboys and the team has no update yet, per Sean McVay.
The Los Angeles Rams are holding their breath over the health of their top wide receiver. Puka Nacua left practice early with an injury during a joint session with the Dallas Cowboys, and the team does not yet know the severity, according to head coach Sean McVay.
MySportsUpdate was first to report that Nacua exited the session and that the club was unsure of the nature of the injury.
My Sports Update (@MySportsUpdate): "#Rams WR Puka Nacua left practice early today with an injury, but the team is currently unsure what the injury is, per HC Sean McVay."
ESPN's Adam Schefter relayed Rams reporter Lindsey Thiry's account that Nacua departed with the training staff and that McVay had no update on what happened.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): "A notable injury issue in LA: (Quoting Lindsey Thiry: Rams WR Puka Nacua left practice with the training staff. Sean McVay says he has no update on what happened.) Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan could potentially miss the start of the season with a hamstring injury, according to Saints coach Kellen Moore."
Nacua is the focal point of Los Angeles' passing game, and any absence would ripple through the Rams' offensive plans. The joint practice setting often produces these kinds of scares, and the lack of an immediate update leaves the situation unresolved for now.
The Rams will evaluate Nacua further before offering a clearer timeline. For a team built to contend, the early read on one of its most important offensive pieces is worth monitoring closely.
