Raiders rookie DE Keyron Crawford out for season with ankle injury

Las Vegas will be without rookie edge rusher Keyron Crawford for the entire 2026 campaign after an ankle injury lands him on injured reserve without a return designation.

The Las Vegas Raiders will be without rookie defensive end Keyron Crawford for the entire 2026 season after an ankle injury placed him on injured reserve, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN.

Crawford, a third-round pick, was showing progress as a pass rusher late in the preseason before the injury. Sam Warren of The Athletic noted the rookie did not receive the designated-to-return tag, meaning his year is over rather than merely paused. Vincent Bonsignore framed the setback as a significant blow given the lost development of a player the Raiders were counting on to grow into a role off the edge. For a club that already leans heavily on Maxx Crosby and a thin edge rotation, losing a promising young rusher for the full year stings — and it underscores how quickly preseason momentum can be undone by injury.
