Raiders' Ashton Jeanty held out Tuesday, Spytek says back 'in a good spot'

Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty was not seen at Tuesday's practice as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle sustained on an Aug. 23.

Head coach Klint Kubiak has said the Raiders are counting on Jeanty to be ready for play for Week 1, but general manager John Spytek offered a more measured update, calling the second-year back 'in a good spot' while declining to set a return timeline. Jeanty, the sixth overall pick in 2025, played all 17 games as a rookie and rushed for 975 yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries. Las Vegas drafted running back Mike Washington in the fourth round; he posted 168 yards on 23 preseason carries.
