Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Tuesday that his starters will play in Friday night's preseason game against the Denver Broncos, giving the first-team offense a longer look than it got a week ago. Quarterback Jordan Love and the No. 1 unit were on the field for just nine plays in the opener, a single possession that ended in a field goal.
LaFleur indicated the starters will likely get at least one more drive against Denver, with kickoff set for 9 p.m. ET on Friday. The coach also said the regulars are unlikely to appear in the preseason finale, since a joint practice with the Cardinals is on tap for the following week. It's a fairly standard ramp for a contending team that wants its starters sharp without absorbing unnecessary hits in August.
