Packers EDGE Nyjalik Kelly also returns from knee issue
Per Rob Demovsky, Packers EDGE Nyjalik Kelly was back at practice Wednesday after a knee issue, joining Dani Dennis-Sutton in returning.
Green Bay Packers edge defender Nyjalik Kelly was also back at practice Wednesday, per Packers beat reporter Rob Demovsky, returning from a knee issue that had kept him sidelined. Kelly's return pairs with the re-emergence of fellow edge Dani Dennis-Sutton, giving the Packers a healthier look on the defensive front.
Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky): Edge Nyjalik Kelly (knee) also back.
Kelly had been working back from the knee limitation as Green Bay managed its edge depth through the heart of training camp. His return to the field, even in a limited capacity, removes one more name from the daily injury ledger and helps the staff evaluate the rotation with more bodies available.
The Packers have emphasized a next-man-up mentality on defense, and a fully available edge group is central to that philosophy under coordinator Jeff Hafley. With Dennis-Sutton and Kelly both back, Green Bay can begin consolidating a healthier group ahead of its next preseason test.
