Packers EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton returns to individual drills after heat illness
Per Rob Demovsky, Packers EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton is back doing individual drills for the first time since a heat-related illness sidelined him over a week ago.
Green Bay Packers edge defender Dani Dennis-Sutton was back doing individual drills Wednesday for the first time since he dropped out of practice more than a week ago with a heat-related illness, per Packers beat reporter Rob Demovsky. The return is a positive sign for a young defender the Packers have been developing on the edge.
Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky): Dani Dennis-Sutton (heat-related illness) appears to be doing individual drills for the first time since dropping out more than a week ago. Bo Melton, Skyy Moore also back after not finishing yesterday’s practice.
Dennis-Sutton, the Packers' 2025 draft pick, had been sidelined after overheating during a practice session, with head coach Matt LaFleur telling reporters the club was taking the situation "very seriously" and working him through the protocol to return. LaFleur indicated there was nothing more serious involved beyond the heat illness, which helped calm any concern about a deeper medical issue.
The 2025 draft pick is part of a Packers edge group that has dealt with assorted camp limitations, so getting him back on the grass — even in a limited individual capacity — is a step toward stabilizing the rotation. Demovsky also noted receivers Bo Melton and Skyy Moore returned after not finishing the previous day's practice, giving Green Bay a healthier look on both sides of the ball.
