The Jets are releasing defensive tackle Mazi Smith, Adam Schefter reported Saturday evening, closing the book on a one-year stint in New York.Smith arrived in the Quinnen Williams trade with Dallas. New York acquired him from the Cowboys and, after the club declined his fifth-year option in April, he was under contract for 2026 and set to hit free agency in 2027. He logged just three games (54 snaps) for the Jets last season.
