The New York Giants are planning to release veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, Adam Schefter reports, in the corresponding move to signing running back Najee Harris. Harris, who spent last season with Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, is now set to play for Giants head coach John Harbaugh — the latest Harbaugh brother connection in the league.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): In the corresponding move for signing RB Najee Harris, the Giants are planning to release veteran WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, per sources.
Smith-Schuster joined the Giants this offseason after a 2025 campaign with Kansas City in which he caught 33 passes for 345 yards and a touchdown. He has been limited in training camp by a knee issue and had fallen behind in a crowded receiver room, according to beat writers who covered his push for a roster spot. The 29-year-old leaves East Rutherford without having played a regular-season snap for New York.
