The New York Giants have reached agreement with guard Jon Runyan on a two-year, $22 million extension, Adam Schefter reported Sunday.

Runyan had made his preference clear before the agreement. Art Stapleton shared a conversation from a few weeks earlier in which Runyan said he wanted to prove his worth to the coaches and the franchise, adding, "I want to be here for the long haul."
Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton): Here’s what Runyan told me a few weeks back: “I know I want to be here, so, you know, I'm gonna play and practice and conduct myself just like that. I want to be here, so I want to prove my worth to myself, and to these coaches, and this franchise, and I want to be here for the long haul.”
The agreement follows another Giants extension reported earlier Sunday: a two-year, $13 million deal for Jameis Winston. New York's contract business now reaches both the quarterback room and the offensive line, with separate agreements to retain Winston and Runyan.
