Free-agent RB Najee Harris visiting the Giants
With Devin Singletary gone and the backfield unsettled, New York is taking a look at the former first-round runner.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Free-agent RB Najee Harris is visiting today with the New York Giants.
The New York Giants are kicking the tires on a familiar name. Free-agent running back Najee Harris is visiting the team Monday, according to Adam Schefter, as New York continues to reshape a backfield that lost Devin Singletary in free agency.
Harris, the 24th overall pick in 2021, spent his first four seasons in Pittsburgh and has cleared 1,000 rushing yards in three of them. He is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw his role diminished behind a shifting Steelers offense, but he remains one of the higher-upside runners available on the open market.
The Giants currently lean on a young group headlined by Tyrone Tracy Jr., with rookie depth behind him. Adding a veteran like Harris would give Brian Daboll a between-the-tackles option and a pass-protector with 64 career games of starting experience.
A visit does not guarantee a deal, and Harris has drawn interest from multiple clubs this offseason. But the fit in East Rutherford is natural: a contender looking for backfield stability and a former first-round back looking for a clearer path to touches.
New York has been active on the transaction wire all camp, and a Harris signing would be the latest in a series of low-cost, high-floor bets under the current front office.
