Eagles release RB Elijah Mitchell off injured reserve with settlement
Philadelphia moved on from running back Elijah Mitchell, per Mike Garafolo.
The Philadelphia Eagles have released running back Elijah Mitchell off injured reserve with an injury settlement, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo): "And the #Eagles released RB Elijah Mitchell off IR with an injury settlement."
Mitchell, who arrived in Philadelphia as a free-agent addition with a chance to contribute in the backfield, lands on the transaction wire after an injury interrupted his availability. The settlement allows both sides to move on.
For the Eagles, the running back room remains a position of depth, and the move trims the roster as the team manages its preseason and injured list. Mitchell will now look for an opportunity elsewhere once healthy.
