The Eagles' rebuilt offensive line appears to have its latest starter, and it is one of the smallest linemen in the NFL.
Lampkin, who has played in all four games this season mostly on special teams, worked at left guard with the starting unit Thursday. Philadelphia has already reshuffled its front after the retirement of Lane Johnson and the offseason trade of Cam Jurgens, and the 5-foot-11, undersized blocker would be the next unexpected piece of that puzzle — a former undrafted free agent who turned heads with dominant preseason work but had yet to see extended regular-season action.
Keeping Lampkin at left guard rather than moving him to center is notable in its own right. It would let the Eagles leave him in place once Drew Kendall returns and avoid shuffling multiple spots along the line, a sign the coaching staff likes what it has seen from him at that spot after he won praise through training camp and the preseason.
The Eagles face the Jaguars on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, a game that would give Lampkin the most extensive professional action of his career.
