The Cowboys have made a roster move ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens in Brazil, placing safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve with a foot injury and signing linebacker Justin Barron from the practice squad.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Cowboys placed S P.J. Locke on injured reserve due to his foot injury and signed LB Justin Barron from their practice squad to their active roster.
Locke was already ruled out for the Brazil game, and the IR placement means he'll miss at least the next three games beyond that. He started one of the team's first two games and recorded three tackles over the last two weeks, giving the Cowboys' secondary a depth hit as they prepare for Lamar Jackson and a potent Baltimore offense.
Barron, who was elevated to play on special teams in Week 1, now joins the 53-man roster to fill the opening. The Cowboys also elevated defensive back Reddy Steward from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
The moves come as Dallas looks to steady itself after a 1-1 start, with the marquee international matchup against the Ravens serving as a significant early-season test. The secondary will need to hold up without Locke against a Baltimore passing attack that has been productive through two weeks.
