The Dallas Cowboys waived wide receiver Traeshon Holden to make room for the signing of outside linebacker Von Miller, according to multiple reports.
The transaction is a direct consequence of Dallas' agreement with Miller, the veteran pass rusher who finalized a one-year deal worth $5.5 million earlier Monday. With the roster at its 90-man limit, a corresponding move was required, and Holden — a young receiver fighting for depth-chart traction — drew the short straw.
Holden entered the league as a developmental wideout and had been competing for a back-end roster spot in a crowded Cowboys receiver room. His release opens a path for Miller to join the defensive front without the club carrying an overweight roster.
