Tunsil's torn triceps left the Commanders without their plan A at quarterback protection, and Humphries arrives as insurance with genuine pedigree: 101 career starts, the bulk of them coming during his long run with the Arizona Cardinals, plus a Pro Bowl nod at his peak. He spent last season with the Rams and worked out for Washington earlier Tuesday before the deal came together.
The fit is straightforward.
