The Commanders reshuffled the lower half of their defensive depth chart Tuesday morning, signing three free agents and parting ways with two safeties in one batch of roster moves.
Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN): Commanders plan to sign free agent DL Boogie Basham, per source. Former second-round pick worked out for the team Monday. Was with Raiders practice squad last season.
Defensive lineman Boogie Basham heads the list of arrivals. The former second-round pick worked out for Washington on Monday and spent last season on the Raiders' practice squad.
The remainder of the moves targets the secondary and the edge group. Per The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala, the Commanders also signed safeties Joshuah Bledsoe and Quindell Johnson, released safety Malik Spencer alongside Harris, and placed outside linebacker Drake Jackson on injured reserve.

Harris' release stands out given he opened camp in the mix at safety, but with Bledsoe and Johnson brought in the same morning, Washington clearly wanted more experienced bodies in the room heading into cutdown week.
