The Washington Commanders will be without two key contributors for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, while adding depth at wide receiver.

Rookie cornerback Trey Amos (ankle) and veteran running back Jeremy McNichols (quad) have both been ruled out. Amos has started all four games this season and recorded 16 tackles with three pass breakups. McNichols has served as the primary backup to Brian Robinson Jr., with 18 carries for 72 yards and three catches for 21 yards.

In a corresponding roster move, the Commanders elevated wide receiver Van Jefferson from the practice squad, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. Jefferson provides depth behind Stefon Diggs (who is out with an injury) and Terry McLaurin (questionable with a knee issue). The veteran wideout has 11 catches for 134 yards this season.

Washington also activated defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. from the physically unable to perform list earlier this week, and elevated safety Darren Hall from the practice squad.

The Commanders (2-2) face the Giants (1-3) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
