Marcus Mariota expected to start for Commanders vs. Seahawks; Jayden Daniels set for more tests

The Commanders are moving forward with a familiar backup under center: all signs point to Marcus Mariota starting Sunday against the Seahawks.

Daniels underwent imaging Monday and will consult with a variety of specialists over the coming days as part of team protocol, sources said, with the team still gathering information on a timetable for its franchise quarterback. Coach Dan Quinn had already made clear the club would rally around Mariota after confirming the dislocation.

Mariota, who stepped in when Daniels went down against the Cowboys, is expected to shoulder the load against Seattle while the Commanders await a fuller medical picture on their starter's return.
