Cardinals' LaFleur: No playcalling changes planned, but Carson Beck could be activated

The Cardinals are looking for answers to a 1-4 start, but Mike LaFleur said they will not come by shifting roles. The head coach told reporters there are no changes planned for now in playcalling or players, offensively or defensively.

The one move that does appear to be on the table is an activation of rookie quarterback Carson Beck. LaFleur stopped short of committing to a change under center, but the team could look at making Beck active, according to the Cardinals' official site — a sign the 2026 draftee may be moving closer to game action as the season slips away.

The stance is notable given the state of Arizona's season. The Cardinals have lost four of five, dealt star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to Houston over the weekend, and now face questions about the direction of the offense. LaFleur indicated the coaching staff still believes in the current group, while keeping the door open for Beck to factor in sooner rather than later.
