The Cardinals will be without rookie running back Jeremiyah Love for Sunday's game against the Rams. Love was officially ruled out Friday after missing practice all week with an ankle injury.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Cardinals ruled out RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) for Sunday's game vs the Rams.
Love has been Arizona's primary ball carrier this season, rushing for 487 yards and four touchdowns through the first five weeks. The rookie third-round pick out of Notre Dame has also added 19 catches for 141 yards and a score as a receiver out of the backfield.
Rapaport noted that Love will rest his ailing ankle with hopes of healing it for the long-term, suggesting the team is taking a cautious approach rather than pushing the rookie back before he is fully healthy.
The Cardinals backfield now turns to veteran depth options as they prep for a key divisional matchup against the Rams at SoFi Stadium.
