Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love out at least a week with ankle injury
Arizona's rookie back won't play next Saturday against the Cowboys after his ankle proved 'a little more sore' than first thought.
Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will miss at least the next week of work after his ankle injury turned out to be more serious than initially believed.
Coach Mike LaFleur said Thursday night that Love could have returned to the team's preseason opener against the Raiders after hurting his ankle, but the situation changed. LaFleur told reporters Saturday morning that Love's ankle is "a little more sore," and that he will be sidelined for at least a week — which rules him out of next Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys.
The third overall pick's status will be re-evaluated down the line, and LaFleur would not commit to Love being back ahead of Arizona's third preseason contest. The Cardinals' other backs include Tyler Allgeier, James Conner, Trey Benson, Bam Knight, Evan Hull and Corey Kiner.
