Tampa Bay's injury report keeps growing. Wide receiver Jalen McMillan injured his left knee in the Bucs' 23-16 loss to the Vikings and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a PCL sprain, per multiple reports.
Jenna Laine of ESPN laid out the initial timeline, with a second opinion expected to add clarity on the exact recovery window.
Jenna Laine (@JennaLaineESPN): Update: It's a PCL sprain for Bucs wide receiver Jalen McMillan, per source. The second opinion will give much more clarity on the timetable for recovery, but the early thinking is this could be 6-8 weeks, which factors in his previous timetable.
The injury is an aggravation of the knee issue that cost McMillan time over the summer. The Bucs receiver posted eight touchdown catches as a rookie in 2024 but was limited to just four games by a neck injury last year, and his hopes of reclaiming an impactful role in the offense this season have now taken a major hit.
McMillan is the second offensive piece Tampa has lost this week — Baker Mayfield is set to miss at least three weeks with a dislocated thumb. With McMillan sidelined into November, the Bucs' passing game is suddenly short of proven weapons beyond the group that carried it through the opening weeks.
