Bryce Young's 2026 preseason did not open the way he or the Panthers wanted.
Playing three series against the Bills on Saturday — his first action of the preseason after sitting out the Hall of Fame Game — Young went three-and-out on all three drives. He finished 3-of-5 for 18 yards with one sack, no touchdowns and no turnovers, and Carolina's starting offense managed just 17 total yards across its nine snaps.
Young's night ended after that third possession. Kenny Pickett took over under center when Carolina returned to the field for its fourth drive.
Saturday's blank box score is a small sample against Buffalo's first-team defense, but it puts an early spotlight on Carolina's offensive line after Young was sacked once in his brief outing. The Panthers will be looking for a much sharper start in their next preseason game as Young continues to build on the momentum of a solid 2025 finish.
