Jerry Jeudy is drawing interest league-wide as a trade candidate, but the Browns are not actively shopping the veteran wide receiver, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN): Jerry Jeudy is viewed as a trade candidate, but that 33-yard catch is an example why the Browns are not actively shopping him. Cleveland is atop the division and Jeudy provides veteran WR experience.
Fowler's report came shortly after Jeudy delivered the biggest play of Cleveland's 13-10 win over the Ravens — a 33-yard catch on third-and-5 to the Baltimore 29-yard line that set up Andre Szmyt's game-winning field goal as time expired. Jeudy led the Browns with four catches for 69 yards on the day, exactly the kind of performance that illustrates why the team is in no rush to move him.
The Browns sit atop the AFC North at 4-2 following Sunday's win — their first time holding a share of first place this late in a season since 2014. Jeudy provides a veteran presence in a wide receiver room that otherwise leans young, and his chemistry with Deshaun Watson has grown over the first six weeks.
That said, Fowler's sourcing makes clear the Browns are a value-based front office: all strong offers are given consideration. Cleveland's front office has been willing to deal established players for the right price in the past, and with Jeudy viewed as a trade candidate in league circles, the situation bears watching as the Nov. 1 trade deadline approaches.
