The 49ers will be without both defensive end Nick Bosa and fullback Kyle Juszczyk for Sunday's road game against the Seahawks, according to San Francisco's final Week 5 injury report. Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans, meanwhile, is off the report entirely and carries no designation.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): 49ers ruled out FB Kyle Juszcyk and DE Nick Bosa for Sunday's game at Seattle. WR Mike Evans is off the injury report and has no injury designation.
Bosa had already missed all three practice days this week with the calf injury that has sidelined him since Week 3, so his absence for Seattle was widely expected. The 49ers defense will also be without defensive tackle James Thompson (ruled out), and the team listed defensive end Mykel Williams as questionable — though he is expected to be activated from the reserve/PUP list on Saturday.
Juszczyk's absence is a newer development after he was a limited participant Thursday and was later downgraded. The veteran fullback is a key component of the 49ers' backfield and special-teams units, and his departure from the injury report Sunday morning would leave a notable gap in San Francisco's short-yardage and protection packages.
Evans being cleared is a welcome sign for a 49ers passing attack that has relied on the rookie wideout since acquiring him in a trade before the season. He was limited in Thursday's practice with rib soreness but was a full participant Friday and has shed his injury tag entirely, giving quarterback Brock Purdy his full complement of perimeter weapons against a Seattle defense that ranks eighth in the league in pass defense DVOA.
