49ers wide receiver Mike Evans was ruled out for the remainder of Monday Night Football after aggravating an Achilles injury against the Commanders.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Mike Evans (achilles) is out for the remainder of the game.
Evans went to the turf after hauling in a 16-yard pass and walked to the locker room for treatment, with the team initially listing him as questionable before ruling him out.
Evans entered the game with Achilles and rib issues, and the 49ers cleared him to play Monday despite the lack of practice time during the week. His early exit removes San Francisco's most proven pass-catching target from the equation and leaves the rest of the receiving corps to carry the load for the remainder of the night.
The severity of the aggravation will become clearer once the 49ers update his status later this week, but the team will be monitoring the position closely as it moves forward.
