Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo): #Vikings GM Nolan Teasley says QB J.J. McCarthy has practiced fully the last two days. Expects him on roster Week 1. “Pleased that he’s part of the present version of the Minnesota Vikings and excited about his future.”
"Pleased that he's part of the present version of the Minnesota Vikings and excited about his future," Teasley said. McCarthy, at full health, gives Minnesota a healthy quarterback room heading into the opener, and the GM's language — "present version" — is a notable comment after weeks of speculation about trades or even an outright release of the young quarterback. For now, he's getting healthy and looks to be part of the Vikings' plans at QB.
