Steelers WR Roman Wilson expected to miss multiple weeks with finger injury

Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson is expected to miss a couple of weeks after suffering a finger injury in Pittsburgh's Week 5 game. He is seeking a second opinion on the severity

The Steelers' already-depleted wide receiver room took another hit Sunday when Roman Wilson injured his finger during Pittsburgh's game. According to Jeremy Fowler, the second-year wideout is expected to miss multiple weeks.

Wilson, who has been working to establish himself in a Steelers offense that lost Michael Pittman Jr. to injured reserve earlier this week, hurt his hand/wrist on a play during Sunday's contest. Beat reporters confirmed Wilson was ruled out for the remainder of the game along with fellow receiver Ben Skowronek, leaving the Steelers with just four healthy wide receivers: DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, Brandon Smith, and Kaden Wetjen.

Wilson is still gathering information and seeking a second opinion before finalizing a treatment plan, suggesting the Steelers are holding out hope the timeline could be shorter than initially feared. Regardless, Pittsburgh faces another week of operating with a thin WR corps as the team prepares for its Week 6 matchup.
