The Pittsburgh Steelers appear set to buck convention at the game's most scrutinized position. Head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters this week that it would be "very accurate" to expect the team to carry all four of its quarterbacks onto the initial 53-man roster.

McCarthy's comments come after a preseason in which the coach said each passer earned a spot. The group is headlined by veteran Aaron Rodgers, who is in his final year of play, and backed up by Mason Rudolph, with rookies Will Howard and Drew Allar rounding out the room.

The Steelers' four-man configuration is unusual — most clubs travel with two or three quarterbacks — but Pittsburgh invested draft capital in the young arms and has leaned on the depth all summer. Howard and Allar both saw extended preseason action, with Allar drawing the two-minute drill in the finale at Buffalo after replacing Howard at halftime, completing 9 of 18 passes for 88 yards.
