Free-agent defensive lineman Greg Gaines is signing with Buffalo, per Jeremy Fowler, who reported the deal. Gaines, a seven-year NFL veteran, spent the previous three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he served as a steady interior presence against the run.
The Bills have prioritized depth along the defensive line during camp, and Gaines brings a proven NFL floor to a rotation that values reliability in the middle. His arrival gives Buffalo another body to lean on as the preseason wraps and final roster decisions approach.
Gaines has appeared in well over 90 career games since entering the league, and his signing is the kind of low-risk, veteran addition contenders often make in late August.
