Giants set to give Najee Harris larger RB role after Skattebo's fumbles

Najee Harris is expected to take on a larger role — and start — in the Giants backfield after Cam Skattebo's costly fumbles, though all four running backs should be active

The Giants are reshaping their backfield rotation for Sunday's game against the Saints, with Najee Harris expected to move into a leading role.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan first reported the expectation of a change — Harris likely to have a larger role with Cam Skattebo downgraded but still part of the mix after the fumbles. Jeremy Fowler subsequently confirmed Harris is set to start in New Orleans. All four running backs (Harris, Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary) are expected to be active.

The shift follows Skattebo's costly overtime fumble in last week's tie against Washington, the latest in a series of ball-security issues. The Giants host the 1-4 Saints at MetLife Stadium, where New York has won four straight home games and will look for another with the new-look rotation giving Harris a chance to carry the backfield load.
