Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): #Falcons LT Jake Matthews, one of the game’s true iron men, has a groin injury and is questionable to return. This is his 200th start and he hasn’t missed a game since 2014.
Matthews was making his 200th start and had not missed a game since 2014, according to Rapoport. His questionable designation leaves open the possibility of a return, but the report does not say whether he will be able to re-enter.
Smith's status is more definitive for the remainder of this game; he is out with a concussion.
Neither report provides a further diagnosis or a timeline for the players beyond Monday's game. The immediate difference is clear, though: Atlanta may still get Matthews back, while Smith will not return tonight.
