Browns claim cornerback Mekhi Blackmon off waivers from Colts
Cleveland added depth in the secondary by claiming cornerback Mekhi Blackmon off waivers from Indianapolis, a move that will not become official until Friday because the Browns play tonight
The Cleveland Browns are adding a former 11-game starter to their cornerback room. The team claimed defensive back Mekhi Blackmon off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts, per multiple reports.
The transaction carries a small wrinkle: because Cleveland plays tonight, the claim will not be processed until Friday, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Blackmon appeared in 11 games and started for the Colts in 2025 before Indianapolis moved on this week, signing Kenneth Harris and waiving Blackmon. For a Browns secondary looking for depth, the waiver claim brings in a young, experienced cover man at no acquisition cost beyond the claim.
